Kaelin & Sarah
We're so excited that adoption is how we are going to start our family and we're truly grateful you're taking the time to read our profile. We've always dreamed of having kids and we know we're going to be able to offer endless love to a child. We can't wait to start this journey and hope you consider us. Thank you!
What it Means to be a Parents
Becoming parents is going to mean the world to us. We both grew up with a strong sense of family and know what it feels like to be supported and loved unconditionally.
We can’t wait to laugh and smile at the little things once we have a child. Whether it’s dinner, or bath time, or first beach trips, or learning to swim in the pool, everything seems like it will be exciting. Once they’re a little bit older, we’re ready to spend time at a soccer field if the child likes sports, or happy to spend the day at a bookstore if they fall in love with reading.
We can’t wait for the energy it’s going to bring into our life. We’re firm believers that family time is where most of the joy in life is found and we plan on incorporating a child into that seamlessly.
Our Life Priorities

Time with each other is our number one priority. We both work but make sure to see each other and spend time together. Weekends matter a lot to us, we always try and leave Sundays free so we can slow down and enjoy being together and reset.

We also prioritize staying close with our extended families. We are lucky enough to live near both sides so we see everyone often and spend the holidays together. We are always going to kids birthday party, a graduation, a rehearsal and every other occasion you can think of. We can't wait to add a child into the mix.
We make it a priority to travel and experience different places and cultures. Our most recent trip was to Tahiti, where we spent the week soaking up the sun and enjoying the bright blue ocean. We can't wait to take our child with us in the coming years on different adventures. We want them to see just as much of the world as we have.
Our Leisure Time

We both love reading, eating and trying new food, finding new coffee shops are town, spending time outside and traveling to the mountains and beach. We are luckily enough to live 45 minutes from the beach and just a few hours from the mountains. We both grew up with families that would take us camping, swimming and hiking. It's somethings we both loved as kids and are excited to do those things with a child as well. One of our summer traditions is traveling to a swim in a new lake or river spot. We can't wait to continue that tradition with a child when they are old enough.
Day to day we have our own little routines. We are big baseball fans and almost always have a game playing in the background. We live close to one of the ballparks so we'll go to games when we get the chance. On weekends we love going to our local farmers market to pick up some goodies, there's always something new to try. We have a tradition on Wednesday nights where we have breakfast for dinner; Waffle Wednesday. Watching Survivor is also something we do together every week (or multiple times a week). Kae started watching with her parents since it first aired and now we have carried over the tradition to our family. We also love boardgames and are looking forward to be able to teach our child how to play all the games we grew up playing.

Our Extended Families

We are so lucky to be within driving distance of almost all of our extended family. Sarah's side is large and lively, while Kae's is smaller and close-knit, it's the perfect combination. Christmas and Thanksgiving are a really big deal for us, we go all out.

Our favorite tradition is the Christmas Eve progressive dinner with Sarah's family. Because so many aunts and uncles live near each other, we spend the whole evening on foot, one house for appetizers, one for dinner, and one for dessert. And dessert comes with a surprise. We have a Santa costume that has been making the rounds for over 40 years, every year a different family member has to suit up and hand out gifts to the kids. Sarah has already had her turn, which means Kae's moment is coming whether she likes it or not.
Both of our families are absolutely thrilled that we have decided to adopt. From the very first conversation they have been all in, cheering us on, showing up, and asking questions every step of the way.
One of our favorite things about our family is just how big and beautifully chaotic it is. Every personality you can imagine, all under one roof. This child is going to have so many people to look up to, learn from, and keep life interesting. Never a dull moment!
Our House and Neighborhood

We live in California and both of us were born and raised here. Our community is very family friendly. Most of the houses on the street have kids under the age of 10 and right next door there’s a family with a 5 yr old, 3 yr old, and 1 yr old. It’s a nice, quiet neighborhood with a lot of trees and an elementary school within walking distance. The school has a big field with multiple jungle gyms and we will take our dog there on the weekends to run around.

Every year there’s a neighborhood block party that’s held. We close off the street, play games, have multiple BBQ's going on, a fire truck will come by for the kids to sit in and take pictures, and at night there’s a bonfire with s’mores.
Our house has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a living area as well as a dining area. There’s also a big front yard with lawn, and a pool in the backyard. There’s a lot of windows, natural light and a big kitchen for when we have people over.
During summer we definitely spend a lot of time outside whether it’s swimming in the pool, laying in the sun, or having friends over to BBQ. California is hard to beat, and a fun place for families, so we don’t plan on moving out of the state!
From Us to You

Thank you so much for taking the time to look over our profile! It means a lot to us that you’re even reviewing it.
We talked about the fact that we both want kids on our second or third date, it’s always been in our plan. We’ve been married for 2 years but have been together for 5 years. It was one of those situations where we both knew that this was it, we had found the one, and we could leave the dating world for good. We feel ridiculously lucky that we’re each other's best friends and we haven’t gone more than 7 nights apart since we met. Since we find so much joy in our own relationship, we know that your child will automatically and immediately be welcomed into an environment that is full of laughter and silliness.
We’re thrilled with our decision to adopt, it just feels right. It’s going to bring so much light into our lives and our families’ lives as well. We will make sure your child gets an excellent education and has the resources to be whatever they want to be when they grow up. We’re going to go on trips, play in the snow, go to the beach, ski, wakeboard, play sports and anything else they want to do. They will know what it’s like to be surrounded by endless cousins, aunts, and uncles. Obviously we aren’t experts on kids just yet, but we know for a fact we will be able to provide quality time, attention, and good communication.
We come from loving families and know what it feels like to grow up with a sense of belonging, so there’s no doubt in our mind that we’ll raise the baby in the same exact way. We also know what it’s like to come from a community that has been a bit marginalized. Because of this we know how important inclusiveness is, and that value is absolutely going to be instilled in the child. They will be accepted for who they are, and will be helped to overcome any obstacles throughout their life.
We recognize that this is a big decision for you, and that you want what’s best for the baby. We’re committed to being there for you and supporting you when you need it and want it to be a partnership throughout the process. We’re open to contact such as emails, calls, and an in person visit because we want you to feel comfortable with the home and family that you’re choosing.
We literally can’t wait to start a new chapter with a child and become moms. We’re ready for it and can already see the child playing in the front yard, or swimming in the pool, or learning to ride a bike. We know they’re going to love it here. This child will always be able to be proud of who they are and will be showered with love throughout their life. No matter which way you decide, we appreciate you considering us as potential parents!
Sincerely,
Kaelin & Sarah
